Nelson joins Dodi Lukebakio (Fortuna Dusseldorf), Ozan Kabak and Nicolas Gonzalez (VfB Stuttgart), Evan Ndicka (Eintracht Frankfurt), Matheus Pereira (1. FC Nurnberg) and Achraf Hakimi (Borussia Dortmund) in the official Bundesliga list, which you can vote on here.

The Arsenal 19-year-old scored seven Bundesliga goals in 628 minutes for the 2018/19 campaign, a goal every 89.7 minutes on average. A couple of injuries and a suspension hurt the winger’s momentum somewhat, but he was still taking part in pretty much every game when fit, only remaining on the bench five times all season.

For a teenager with very little senior experience, finishing the campaign as Hoffenheim’s fourth top scorer is an impressive effort, especially for his ‘rookie’ campaign in Germany.

Nelson will return to Arsenal after his holiday, and he’ll presumably play a part in the friendly against Boreham Wood before pre-season gets fully underway. Unlike the rest of the senior squad, who will still be on holiday as a result of the date of the Europa League final, Nelson has enough time to be back involved by then.

After that, it’s up to Unai Emery to decide how involved in the Arsenal first-team plans the player will be.
