N’Golo Kante has travelled to Baku with the Chelsea squad, but he’s still a doubt to start the Europa League final against Arsenal on Wednesday.

Kante suffered a calf strain against Watford at the beginning of the month, but the signs were looking positive that he might be back in time to feature in the Europa League final next week. However, Goal then reported that he’d suffered another setback in his road to recovery, taking a knock to his knee in training.
Nonetheless, the midfielder has travelled with the Chelsea squad to Baku, with his participation in the match still to be confirmed.
#Kante's injury isn't as bad as first feared and he has travelled to #Baku with the rest of the #cfc squad. Still doesn't mean he will be fit to start on Wednesday though. Could be big decision for #Sarri to make. https://t.co/CSjN5QVqIH

The fact Kante’s joined the team doesn’t necessarily mean he’s fit, particularly as the injured Antonio Rudiger also travelled, but it’s certainly better than leaving him at home.

The rumours of a knock for fellow midfielder Jorginho also appear to be wide of the mark, as the 27-year-old has travelled as well. However, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will join Rudiger in missing out on participating in the final.
Kante and Jorginho have made 52 and 53 appearances respectively for Chelsea this season, so they’re clearly a key part of the side. We’ll know on Wednesday night whether they really are at full fitness.
