Bielik started for Charlton at The Valley as they attempted to defend a 2-1 lead from the first leg. He quickly added to that lead with a goal from a set piece within the first two minutes:

That should have been enough to carry them to the final, but Charlton ended up conceding an equaliser, followed by a goal right at the end to send the tie to extra time. After a goal each for either side, Bielik came off before the penalty shootout, which the hosts won.

As a result, Bielik will now have the chance to take part in the playoff final against Sunderland next Sunday. The Arsenal loanee certainly earned that opportunity, making nine clearances, one block, one interception, four tackles, winning all five of his aerial duels and completing all four of his dribbles on the day.

Having finally started to shake off his more serious injury problems, Bielik may well be ready for another chance with Arsenal, though we’ll have to wait and see how he does in pre-season. For now, we wish him luck with the final and securing Charlton promotion.
