FC Barcelona have made contact with Alexandre Lacazette’s entourage to make their interest in a summer move known, according to reports in France.

Le10Sport report that Barcelona have made initial contact with Lacazette, though they haven’t sent through a concrete offer for him at this stage. For now, the Arsenal striker is considered as a ‘serious alternative’ in case the negotiations for Antoine Griezmann fall through, considering the high wages demanded by the Atletico man.

If Barcelona do ever decide to give up Griezmann, Le10Sport claim they would then turn to Lacazette, whose ‘versatility’ and ‘efficiency’ has impressed their scouts.

Griezmann himself has already announced that he’ll leave Atletico Madrid this summer, but he hasn’t confirmed his destination. The reliable RAC1 report that Barcelona don’t have an agreement with him as things stand, with Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League clubs also interested.

It’s very possible that Griezmann ends up somewhere else as a result, leaving Barcelona to turn to Lacazette. It’s worth noting that Le10Sport aren’t nearly as reliable as RAC1 though, so take the whole story with a pinch of salt.
