FC Barcelona are interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette this summer, as they continue their search for a new striker.

Spanish outlet Sport report that Barcelona have an interest in both of Arsenal’s star strikers. They claim that the La Liga champions would make an attractive destination for the pair, especially after the Gunners’ failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Plus, both players are close with Ousmane Dembele. Aubameyang has been friends with the Barca winger since their time with Borussia Dortmund, whilst Lacazette knows the 22-year-old through the French national team. The chance to link up with Dembele, as well as obviously Lionel Messi, could prove tempting.

On the other hand, Arsenal don’t want to let go of either player, and they have them both tied down to contracts lasting at least another couple of years. They’re also guaranteed starters at the Emirates Stadium, which wouldn’t necessarily remain the case at the Camp Nou.

After 19 goals and 11 assists for Lacazette this season, and 31 goals and eight assists for Aubameyang, it seems unlikely Arsenal would consider a sale. However, with the failure to qualify for the Champions League they might end up needing the money to strengthen the team as a whole.
