Real Sociedad want to sign David Ospina this summer and see his €8m price tag as a bit of a bargain.

True story.

Arsenal thought they were going to finally sell David Ospina with Napoli blathering on all season about how they wanted to buy him.

But they didn’t, did they? Nooooo.

Despite the player and his family thinking they had a deal to remain permanently in Naples, Carlo Ancelotti benched the keeper after 24 league games, one short of triggering the obligatory purchase option in his loan agreement.

He’d have only cost them around €3.5m as well.

Few clubs have seemed willing to stump up any sort of reasonable amount of money for the keeper but his season in Italy has helped his resale value immensely.

As such, Don Balon report that he is available for ‘only’ €8m.

Step forward Real Sociedad.

Imanol Alguacil, their manager, is not convinced by either of the options currently at the club and has, reportedly, sought ‘guarantees’ from Ospina whom I’m sure would be eager to give them.
