Denis Suarez is set to leave FC Barcelona this summer, though there’s no expectation he’ll return to Arsenal after his disappointing loan move over the last few months.

Fichajes report that the Spaniard will neither remain at Arsenal nor stay with Barcelona next season. Barca boss Ernesto Valverde reportedly doesn’t count on the 25-year-old, so he’s likely to sell this summer.

RAC1 report that Valencia boss Marcelino continues to like Suarez. Following the La Liga side’s qualification for the Champions League, they’re looking to reinforce their midfield with a summer signing.

Suarez only managed six appearances for Arsenal, all from the bench, but in truth he never really had much of a chance. At first, he was integrating into the squad, as all players do. Then Henrikh Mkhitaryan returned from injury in good form, and Unai Emery also opted for a formation without wide forwards in the majority of his matches.

When Mkhitaryan’s form dipped, Suarez picked up an injury that ruled him out of the remainder of the campaign. Everything just seemed to be against the versatile midfielder, but it looks like he might get another chance with Valencia this summer.
