Bukayo Saka has had an incredible season with the Arsenal academy, and he only seems to be getting better as he goes on.

Saka started the 2018/19 campaign without an u23 appearance to his name, having spent the previous season with the u18s or below. After all, he was only 16 years old back in August, so even playing regularly for Arsenal’s second-tier academy side was an achievement.

Nonetheless, Saka was given a chance from the bench in the u23s against Manchester City on the opening day, and he didn’t disappoint. Within minutes of coming on he’d set up an equalising goal, and he repeated the trick with another assist in his second substitute appearance the next week.

Dropping back down to the u18s for a game, Saka scored twice and assisted twice in his first match of the campaign, which seemingly sealed his fate. The winger was promoted to the u23s, only making three u18 appearances for the remainder of the season (against Chelsea, Spurs and in the u18 Premier League final).

Saka scored 14 goals, assisted 10 and won three penalties throughout the season, as well as making a man-of-the-match Emirates Stadium debut in the Europa League group stage. You can watch all of his goal contributions in the videos below:

Saka is ending the season on a high, with four goals, three assists and one penalty won in six games since the start of April. Hopefully, it’ll be topped off with a first Premier League start against Burnley this weekend. We can dream.
