Manuela Zinsberger’s arrival marks the second player signed from the German club since the season ended so successfully for the women’s team and helps ready them for a return to Champions League football next season.

Jill Roord, a 22-year-old midfielder, joined us earlier in the week.

It had been rumoured for some time that Arsenal would sign three players from Bayern Munich this summer but Sara Dabritz, who was also expected to join Arsenal, opted for PSG in a change of heart.

23-year-old Zinsberger told Arsenal.com, “It’s such an amazing feeling.

“I know a lot of the players here. We have a really good team here with really good quality and impressive performances, so I’m looking forward to being part of it!”

Joe Montemurro added “We are delighted to welcome Manuela to Arsenal. She is a world-class goalkeeper, and her achievements mirror that. Her experience and ability will be a great addition to our squad.”
