Arsenal are one of three teams scouting Bristol City left-back Lloyd Kelly over a potential summer move, according to reliable journalist Paul Joyce.

Joyce writes in The Times that scouts from Liverpool, Arsenal and Southampton have all checked on 20-year-old Kelly recently. The defender can also play at centre-back, but he’s spent the majority of his season out on the left, one of the positions where the Gunners are looking for a new signing.

The Bristol Post previously reported that Southampton showed an interest in signing Kelly in January, and they were quoted a fee of around £15m by the Bristol City hierarchy. That wouldn’t put Arsenal completely out of the picture, but it depends what their priorities are this summer.

Kelly has a contract with Bristol City until 2021, so now is a good time for them to sell. However, after 34 appearances this season, they’re not going to want to lose one of their first-team regulars unless they’re bringing in enough money to replace him.

The England u21 international is strong in the air and a good dribbler, though he needs to work a bit more on his final ball. He’s had a great season with Bristol overall, but we’ll see whether the Arsenal scouts have been sufficiently impressed to make a bid.
