Arsenal and West Ham are chasing FC Barcelona’s Andre Gomes over a summer move, with the midfielder’s price-tag set at €30m.

Gerard Romero of Catalan radio station RAC1 reports that Gomes has the two Premier League clubs interested in him this summer. The Barcelona midfielder’s value is estimated at €30m, and he has a contract with the La Liga club until 2021.

Gomes spent the 2018/19 season on loan with Everton, though he took a little while to get going after a muscle injury prevented him playing until October. After that, the Portuguese international was a regular in the side, making 29 appearances, scoring one goal and providing a couple of assists.

Towards the end of the campaign, Gomes was involved in a number of good results for Everton, including draws with Liverpool and Spurs and wins over Chelsea and Arsenal. The 25-year-old stands at around 6’2″, so he’d certainly add a physical presence to the Gunners midfield.

€30m seems a bit steep for a player who never quite shone at Everton though, and arguably Arsenal are more in need of an attack-minded midfielder with Aaron Ramsey leaving.
