25-year-old Thomas Partey has been linked with Arsenal for a while now but it seems the defensive midfielder, who has made 37 appearances this season, has no intention of swapping life in Spain for the Premier League.

“I’ve grown up in Atleti and I am sure I will stay here,” Parety told Cadena COPE.

“I don’t know of another place that will understand how I play like they do here”.

Just a few days ago he was reportedly ‘excited’ at the possibility of moving to the Premier League but that information came from a ‘source’ close to the player according to ESPN who also once claimed Nacho Monreal had agreed a contract extension at Arsenal which seems to be wrong.

However, speaking last summer, Thomas said, “The Premier League is a good league, it’s very competitive and has some of the best players in the world. Hopefully, one day. I would like to play there.”

Thomas’s best work comes off the ball. He’s fantastic at making interceptions and tackles to win possession back but he’s also more than capable at making things happen once he’s won it.

Thomas has a €50m buy-out clause which is surely too much for Arsenal who have a defence to sort out. He is under contract until 2023.
