Sokratis has picked up more yellow cards than any other centreback in the Premier League this season.

The Greek defender picked up his 10th Premier League booking against Everton meaning that he will now miss the games against Watford and Crystal Palace.

It was unfortunate for Sokratis, who only had to make it through the game against Everton without a booking to avoid the suspension but, alas, it seems that’s not something he’s able to do too regularly.

He is, of course, not the most carded player in the Arsenal squad this season.

That falls to Granit Xhaka who has 11 across all competitions.

As I was looking through the stats on Arsenal’s yellow cards it was notable that Aaron Ramsey, despite playing in 37 games, has not picked up a single booking this season. Nor has Alex Iwobi who has played more games than any other Arsenal player this season (42).

Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Mesut Ozil and Piere-Emerick Aubameyang, who has played the most minutes of any Arsenal player, have all picked up just one.
