Against Crystal Palace, Shkodran Mustafi out-Mustafied himself with his attempted block on Wilfried Zaha that gifted the £80m-rated man the opportunity to grab all three points for his side.

It was one of the worst pieces of defending you’re likely to see at this level of football.

As Mustafi looked like he was going to hold Zaha off instead of playing and clearing the ball, he simply stepped to the side, allowing the Palace danger man to waltz through. Mustafi then berated Bernd Leno for not collecting the ball.

Sadly, it’s not the first time we’ve seen this sort of nonsense from the German.

It probably won’t be the last, either.
