ESPN claim that multiple sources have informed them that Malcom wants to leave his current club at the end of the season, with Barcelona just keen to get back what they paid for him. ESPN’s source says the option to leave is on the table, but that doesn’t mean the club are going to give him away.

Malcom signed from Bordeaux for €40m last summer, so £35m would be enough to recoup that, but the Daily Mail claim Barca want £39m.

The Brazilian has scored four goals and provided two assists in 19 appearances for his new club this season, though only eight of those appearances were starts.

Malcom’s longest run of games was in late-March/early April, when he played in four league matches in a row. However, he’s since spent a couple of games on the bench again.

Clearly, the 22-year-old could be playing more often with Arsenal, given the club only really have two senior wide options in the entire squad. Whether the Gunners are willing to splash out £35-40m on him is another matter. We’ll have to wait and find out this summer.
