Leicester City are planning on ‘pulling out all the stops’ to sign Youri Tielemans on a permanent deal despite interest from other clubs including Arsenal.

Youri Tielemans is a player who has long been linked with Arsenal.

Back in 2017, the player admitted that he hadn’t considered a move to Arsenal, despite their interest, because they already had ‘top players’.

Now, after a loan move from Monaco to Leicester that has seen him come to the attention of a larger audience, the 21-year-old looks like he will be in demand this summer.

His three goals and five assists in 11 Premier League games for the Foxes have also helped.

Speaking to the media about the player, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers said: “There will be dialogue between the clubs. He’s clearly a player we would like to work with and I understand the fans enjoy watching a player like that.

“I’m sure the club will do everything they possibly can to bring him in. There are things he can’t do but he’s paid to create and score and he’s doing that very well. It’s important that you have players that are hungry to score and Youri has got that.”

Tielemans, of course, scored for Leicester as they inflicted yet another defeat on Arsenal. Speaking after the game, the Belgian said, “I’m feeling the love [from the Leicester fans].

“When you score and you hear your name with the crowd singing, it’s fantastic to play in that atmosphere.

“As for my future, we’ll see at the end of the season. I am just enjoying everything here and we’ll see after the next two games.

“I’m doing my very best to play at a high level and I will keep going until the end of the season.

“I’m just finishing this season and we will see at the end.”

It is rumoured that it will cost £40m to land Tielemans on a permanent deal, an amount that might be too rich for the Gunners.

He has a contract with Monaco until 2022.
