Schlupp was forced off the pitch early against Manchester City, after suffering an ankle injury midway through the first half. Unfortunately, he’s now confirmed that the problem will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

Schlupp has been a regular in Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace side, making 37 appearances in all competitions. Mostly playing on the left-hand side, anywhere from left-back to left-wing, the 26-year-old has five goals and three assists this season. Notably, he scored in Palace’s away win over Manchester City and assisted a goal against Manchester United.

Palace should be fine on the left against Arsenal, as they have Wilfried Zaha and Patrick van Aanholt, but it does mean they’re restricted from using Zaha up front, as they have at times this campaign.

Hopefully, for the sake of the player and Palace, Schlupp’s recovery from injury will be swift and smooth.
