Despite interest from Arsenal, it seems like Manchester United’s Ander Herrera will opt to move to PSG when his contract expires this summer.

According to Le Quotidien Du Foot, Ander Herrera has agreed terms with PSG after refusing to extend his contract with United.

Although the Old Trafford outfit had offered him a new deal, Herrera was not happy with the wages on offer nor the likelihood that he would be moved to the role of squad player going forward.

Speaking to the media, Herrera gave something of an update on his situation towards the end of March. “It is logical [to be linked with other clubs] when you have three months of contract [left],” he told El Periodico. “I take it as normal. I focus on football in the month and a half [of the season] that remains.

“The rest is left to my agent, both the possible renewal with United and if you talk to another club, so I do not know if my stage is over.

“I enjoy being at the biggest club in England. The fans have treated me phenomenally and my duty is to listen to them, although I do not know what is going to happen.”

Since then, things have clearly changed although many expected the club to make a stronger effort to keep the 29-year-old after they gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the manager’s job permanently.

As for Arsenal, they have a small budget this summer so players available on free transfers are tempting more than usual.

In this case, however, it seems they will have to look elsewhere.
