David Ospina only needs to play one more game before his transfer to Napoli will become official, after starting and keeping a clean sheet on Sunday.

This weekend, Ospina kept a clean sheet for Napoli against Frosinone in his 24th appearance of the season for his loan club. As confirmed by multiple sources including the player’s father, Ospina’s loan move will become permanent as soon as he makes his 25th.

Ospina has appeared in Napoli’s last three league games in a row, so it’s looking increasingly likely he’ll feature in at least one more of the club’s final four games of the campaign.

Of course, if Napoli don’t want to sign the Arsenal man, they may simply decide to drop him from the squad. That’s what Hannover 96 have done with Takuma Asano, who is also one game away from having his option-to-buy activated.

All the suggestions from around the club are that they’re happy to have the Colombian stay though. He’s kept eight clean sheets in his 24 matches and has clearly done enough to get plenty of opportunities despite the availability of the young and highly-rated alternative Alex Meret.

Napoli’s next game is at home to Cagliari on 5th May.
