PAOK needed a win to secure the title on Sunday and they didn’t hold back, defeating Levadiakos 5-0. With just one game to go, the Greek side are still unbeaten, so avoiding defeat against Giannina on May 5th would confirm them as the invincibles of their country.

Chuba Akpom, who left Arsenal for PAOK last summer, is delighted to have won his first major career honour. He posted on Twitter to share his celebrations:

The season isn’t over yet though. Aside from the chance to complete an unbeaten season, PAOK are also in contention to win the Greek Cup.

Akpom’s side are 2-0 up in their two-legged semi-final against Asteras Tripolis, with the second leg taking place on Thursday. After that, they’ll probably face AEK in the final, unless Lamia can overcome a 2-0 deficit of their own.

Akpom didn’t get into the PAOK starting lineup immediately after joining last summer, but he’s played all but three of their matches since the start of 2019.

To become a first-team regular and win a league and cup double along with an unbeaten league season would be a debut campaign to surpass the striker’s wildest dreams. Let’s hope they can do it.
