Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino started his second match of the Montaigu Tournament on Saturday, as England defeated Portugal 3-1 in their final group stage game.
Arsenal duo Patino and Daniel Oyegoke are both with England for the tournament, and they’ve impressed in their starts so far. Right-back Oyegoke won a penalty in the opening game, and midfielder Patino scored in the second match. The 15-year-old was rewarded for his goal with another start against Portugal on Saturday.
Though he didn’t get on the scoresheet this time, the youngster played well as England won 3-1. The result wasn’t quite enough to top the group, given Argentina won all three of their group games, compared to England’s two victories and one defeat.
The format of the tournament has the winners of the two groups face up against each other for first place, then the two runners-up play a third-place play-off, and so on. As a result, England face Group A runners-up Brazil for third place on Monday.
Charlie Patino started the second game and scored, as England defeated Ivory Coast 5-0. Simple finish but a nicely timed arrival in the box.

Hopefully, Oyegoke and Patino will both be involved in a positive finish to the youth tournament.
