Arsenal youngsters Daniel Oyegoke and Charlie Patino are impressing for England’s u16s at the Montaigu Tournament after both received call-ups for the France-based competition.

Though England fell to defeat in their opening group fixture against Argentina, 16-year-old Arsenal defender Oyegoke impressed for the team at right-back. He won a late penalty which should have earned them the draw, but unfortunately, it was missed by a teammate.

Patino, 15, got the chance to impress second time around, starting against the Ivory Coast. The midfielder took the opportunity, scoring and performing well in a 5-0 victory for the Young Lions.

It’s no surprise to see both players involved with England, as they’ve been playing an important role with the Arsenal u16s this season. Both featured in the team’s run to the U16 PL Cup final, as well as their victorious Liam Brady Cup run. Patino scored the winner in the final against Valencia in that tournament.

The final game of the group stage is against Portugal on Saturday, but Argentina have already topped the group, as they’re three points ahead of England and Portugal with the head-to-head advantage over both. Still, Patino and Oyegoke will be hoping to finish in second place. Good luck to them.
