Arsenal are one of a number of clubs who are seriously interested in bringing in RB Leipzig’s Paul Mitchell to work as their new sporting director.

Paul Mitchell is currently employed by RB Leipzig and the Germans want to give him a contract tieing him to the Bundesliga side until 2025. That’s certainly a huge clue as to how highly he is rated.

If Arsenal are going to win the race for his signature they are not only going to have to outdo whatever RB Leipzig offer him but beat what Manchester United and Chelsea come up with, too.

According to Sky Sports, the talent spotter, who previously worked with Southampton and Tottenham, would take on more responsibility at RB LEipzig if he signs the new deal on offer as he would be promoted to ‘head of global football’ with mention of him even becoming manager before the end of it.

Sadio Mane, Dusan Tadic, Graziano Pelle, Toby Alderweireld, Dele Alli and Kieran Trippier are just some of the players he’s been credited with unearthing.

Julian Nagelsmann will take over as manager this summer when Ralf Rangnick steps aside and Nagelsmann has reportedly told the board Mitchell staying ‘must be a priority’.
