Arsenal have reportedly identified Jordan Veretout as a potential Aaron Ramsey replacement but the 26-year-old Frenchman is also wanted by Napoli and AC Milan.

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal sat down with Veretout’s agent, Mario Giuffredi, when he travelled to London last week to watch Arsenal v Napoli in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash.

However, Napoli are said to be in the lead in the race for Veretout’s signature as they look to add two midfielders this summer.

Cristiano Giuntoli, Napoli’s director of football, is believed to be in talks with Fiorentina over a €25m move for their player.

Veretout is under contract until 2021 after signing for the Italians in the summer of 2017. He cost them £6.3m from Aston Villa where he spent two seasons on loan with Saint Etienne. He made just 29 appearances for Villa.

This season, Veretout has five goals and three assists in 27 Serie A appearances.
