German outlet Bild write that Arsenal have already filed their interest with Hoffenheim, ahead of a potential move this summer. SportBild previously wrote that Demirbay has a €32m (£27.7m) release clause, so he shouldn’t be out of the Gunners’ budget, particularly if they end up qualifying for the Champions League.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in Demirbay as a midfield replacement for the departing Aaron Ramsey, but they aren’t the only club with their eyes on the 25-year-old. Besiktas and Galatasaray are both keen on bringing the player to Turkey.

Demirbay is strong creatively, particularly from set pieces, and he also has a good long shot in him. He can carry the ball effectively and recovers possession for his team regularly as well.

The Hoffenheim man doesn’t score quite as often as Ramsey, but he still has four goals to add to his eight assists in 28 appearances this season. He’d certainly make a good addition to the Gunners’ midfield, even if it isn’t a like-for-like swap.
