The claims that Arsenal are interested in signing Jordan Veretout was reported to have started in Le Foot before being picked up by the UK media. Metro detail the story, saying they got it from Team Talk. Team Talk say they got it from Le Foot but then link to Le Quotidien du Foot website, not an actual story.

A report in Italy then claims their info comes from Metro.

In other words, I wouldn’t go getting too excited just yet.

The 26-year-old is under contract until 2021 after signing for the Italians in the summer of 2017. He cost them £6.3m from Aston Villa where he spent two seasons on loan with Saint Etienne. He made just 29 appearances for Villa.

This season, Veretout has five goals and three assists in 27 Serie A appearances.
