Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Hakim Ziyech despite the player apparently being stuck in a ‘tug-of-war’ between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

According to a report in Le Temps, Arsenal are one of a number of clubs who are interested in 26-year-old Hakim Ziyech who is said to be worth €50m.

A right-winger who has 15 goals and 13 assists in 24 Eredivisie appearances this season for Ajax, it’s not hard to see why he’s in demand.

Arsenal are, of course, in the market for a winger or two but will they be able to fight of clubs paying €50m+ for players? I wouldn’t be so sure.

This isn’t the first time Arsenal have been linked with a move for Ziyech.

Speaking back in October Ziyech’s agent said he was hoping for a move to Arsenal or Liverpool. “I hope that there will be a better club than Roma, an Arsenal or Liverpool”, Rene van der Gijp said.

At the time the player was also being linked with a move to Everton which his agent dismissed totally. “That would be crazy for that boy,” van der Gijp scoffed. “He should not go to Everton, what are you doing there?”

Ziyech is under contract until 2021.
