Martinez won his second MOTM award from the Reading supporters on Saturday, as his side beat Ipswich Town 2-1. Despite conceding one goal, the goalkeeper was really impressive, making six saves and a couple of high claims to help Reading win the three points.

You can watch his best saves from the performance in the video below:

The Reading fans are loving how the goalkeeper has played since joining on loan from Arsenal, with supporters on Twitter saying they’d “love to sign him permanently” or that he’s “too good for this league”.

In his seven matches so far, Martinez has an 80% save percentage rate. In the Premier League, that would put him level with Alisson at the top of the division.

Obviously, the Arsenal loanee is facing up against Championship players, so it’s not the same. Nonetheless, it’s still an impressive record so far, and the 26-year-old is making a great case for another chance in North London with Petr Cech leaving. The Gunners could certainly use the extra transfer money they’d save by not having to buy a replacement.
