Marc Overmars has apparently told Ajax that he wants to leave for Arsenal but all might not be what it seems.

Arsenal had been expected to sign Monchi however in the last few days reports claimed that he was close to agreeing a three-year deal to return to Sevilla.

That left Arsenal with just Overmars on their list and according to two reports from the Netherlands, the former Gunner is keen to join Arsenal with one of them claiming he has told Ajax he wants to leave.

The problem, however, is that their information comes from The S*n.

The report also states that Overmars would not be a direct replacement for Sven Mislintat with Francis Cagigao set to replace him as head scout.
