The former Arsenal man, who is still a firm fan favourite with Gooners, admitted speeding 10mph over the limit and will now serve a six-month ban.

His latest offence added three points to his licence, taking him to 12 points and an automatic ban.

Giroud was also fined £600 and ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge as well as £85 in costs. He currently earns £120,000-per-week.

The 32-year-old was not present at the hearing at Willesden Magistrate’s Court after it was moved at short notice from the afternoon to the morning.

He was driving a Bentley at the time and all his speeding offences have happened since February 2018, the month after he left Arsenal.
