Nacho Monreal hasn’t travelled with the Arsenal first-team squad to Dubai this week, as he’s suffering from tightness in his calf.

After Monreal was absent from photos of the Arsenal squad travelling to Dubai, the club’s Twitter account posted an update to let fans know the Spaniard has been left at home as a precaution due to tightness in his calf.

The left-back joins Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Aaron Ramsey in picking up minor injuries at the start of the international break. Sokratis is suffering from oedema (swelling) in his ankle, though there’s no news on whether that will stop him from playing.

Meanwhile, Ramsey missed out on Wales’ first match against Trinidad and Tobago with a slight knock to his thigh. Fortunately, it seems the 28-year-old is set to come back into the team for this weekend’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia.

As for Monreal, we’ll have to wait and see whether the precautions Arsenal have taken are enough to prevent any more serious injury. The 33-year-old has already spent plenty of time on the sidelines with various knocks, and the club really need him to stay fit for the final month and a half of the season.
