It’s not off the table for Monchi to bring a couple of AS Roma stars with him this summer if he joins Arsenal, according to reports in the Italian media.

CalcioMercatoNews reports that Monchi is currently torn between joining Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, but the Gunners remain in pole position to snap him up. According to the Italian outlet, “it is not excluded” that the potential new technical director brings a couple of players with him.

Firstly, Steven N’Zonzi, who joined Sevilla under Monchi and then Roma. The 30-year-old midfielder hasn’t convinced in the Italian capital, so it wouldn’t be a huge shock to see him on the move again just a year after joining. Secondly, Cengiz Under, who CalcioMercatoNews call Arsenal’s long-term target.

Di Marzio journalist Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that Arsenal showed an interest in AS Roma’s Cengiz Under in January and have since scouted him in March. The pursuit of the winger is reportedly endorsed both by Unai Emery and the management team at the Emirates Stadium.

Previous reports suggested Roma want a fee in excess of €40m for the 21-year-old, though Chelsea would be providing competition for the signing, assuming they aren’t under the effects of their transfer ban. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move in the past.

As for N’Zonzi, we’ve heard it all before, window after window. We’ll believe it when we see it.
