According to Training Ground Guru, Ashworth will be the new Head of Performance at Sparta Prague, working with Sporting Director and former Gunner Tomas Rosicky. Ashworth worked for Arsenal as a physio for six years until last May, when he was let go amid a number of backroom changes under new management.

Ashworth and Rosicky will already know each other well from their time with Arsenal, considering how much of his final years with the club the Czech midfielder was forced to spend out injured. In the six seasons Ashworth was with the club, Rosicky was there for five, and missed 59 matches with some form of fitness problem.

Despite that fact, it’s clear Rosicky doesn’t feel the former physio was at fault, as there’s no doubt he must have played a part in Ashworth’s appointment at his new club.

We wish them both the best of luck in Prague, as their team prepares to take part in the Championship group, after securing a top-six league finish.
