Denis Suarez has responded to the rumours suggesting Arsenal have already decided to send him back to Barcelona, with a post on his Instagram story.

The English media claimed this week that Suarez has ‘struggled to impress’ Unai Emery on his loan so far, and Arsenal are already looking to send him back and sign someone else in the summer. They suggested there are fears in the Gunners camp that Suarez can’t adapt to the physicality of the Premier League.

The player himself clearly noticed the story, posting on his Instagram story: “Back on training with *smile emoji*. Let them keep talking *shushing emoji*.”

Suarez has made six appearances for Arsenal so far, but he’s yet to start a match, and those six games only come to a total 95 minutes. The loanee’s longest opportunity so far was actually in his first game against Manchester City, with Arsenal already dead and buried on that occasion.

As a result, it’s hard to tell how good he could be for the team. The Spaniard had a positive cameo against Manchester United most recently, and he’ll likely get a start in Arsenal’s mid-season friendly over the international break. After that, we’ll see if he can take his competitive chances when they come along.

The Gunners have eight games in four weeks in April, so it’s unlikely Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be able to play all of them. That’s when Suarez needs to seize his opportunity.
