Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal are all hopeful of returning to the Arsenal starting lineup against Newcastle United on Monday, despite injuries over the international break.

Xhaka appeared in both of Switzerland’s matches over the break, but he had to come off with 12 minutes of the second fixture remaining, as he suffered an adductor injury. Meanwhile, Ramsey missed both of Wales’ games after a knock to his thigh didn’t disappear as quickly as he was hoping.

Monreal wasn’t called up for international duty with Spain, but he had to miss out on Arsenal’s trip to Dubai as well, with a calf issue.

The good news is that they’re all reportedly on the mend. The Mirror claim Xhaka and Ramsey are hoping to be fit by Monday, though they haven’t been passed fully fit just yet. Monreal’s calf problem has responded to treatment and he is ‘expected’ to play.

Arsenal have also confirmed that Ramsey and Monreal are both back in full training, though they didn’t give any update on Xhaka. Hopefully, that’s just because his injury wasn’t bad enough to warrant a mention in the first place, but we’ll see.
