Arsenal have offered a coaching role to retiring goalkeeper Petr Cech, but they’re going to face competition from the 36-year-old’s former club Chelsea.

According to The S*n, Arsenal have already offered Cech a coaching role ahead of his professional goalkeeping retirement in a couple of months. Chelsea are also open to hiring the 36-year-old as a coach next season though, and the goalkeeper isn’t planning to make a final decision on his future until the summer.

The Blues would also be open to taking Cech back as a club ambassador if he’s not interested in coaching. The suggestion is the Czech international would be though, considering he’s already begun his coaching badges.

In his playing career, it’s fair to say Cech was more of a Chelsea man overall, having spent 11 years with them before his four-year spell with Arsenal.

However, Arsenal might be able to make a more convincing proposal behind the scenes, as Cech is already settled at the club. He may also feel he has more to offer in North London, considering Arsenal have had a lot of trouble with goalkeepers in recent years. We’ll see.
