Paris Saint-Germain have made Arsene Wenger an offer to become their director of football, with reports suggesting current director Antero Henrique is already living in the Frenchman’s shadow.

The Times report that Wenger is ready to return to football, and he has four different job offers. One of these is from PSG, and it appears to be the one he’s most likely to take.

Le10Sport write that the Ligue 1 club have reached ‘the point of no return’ with current director Henrique. UOL Sport claim they’ve heard reports from inside PSG of irritation at the job the former FC Porto man is doing, and they add that Henrique ‘already lives with the shadow of the coach Arsene Wenger’.

Previous reports suggested the ex-Arsenal boss has already met with head coach Thomas Tuchel recently to discuss the club, and he also caught up with chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi in Qatar with beIN Sports.

According to ESPN, Henrique ‘massively disappointed’ PSG’s owners by failing to sign Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong, with FC Barcelona completing the transfer instead. Henrique reportedly knew his future depended on whether he could convince de Jong to move to France, which he failed to do.

It may be just a matter of time now before Wenger returns to work.
