Arsenal have taken Denis Suarez on loan until the end of the season and can purchase him outright for £20m should everything go to plan.

The Spaniard moved to Barcelona in 2013 from Manchester City’s academy in a deal that cost the Catalans £3m. His contract also contained a 20% sell-on fee that has apparently been rolled over into the new deal he signed before moving to Arsenal according to the S*n who make these claims in an EXCLUSIVE.

Barcelona also had to pay £800k for every 10 appearances Suarez made (up to 100) which might go some way to explain part of the reason he was pushed out of the first team.

Why keep paying more for a player you don’t want?

In total, Suarez played 71 times for Barcelona, scoring eight goals and creating 11.
