A journalist from the Netherlands believes there are people at Arsenal who really want to bring Marc Overmars to the club but some aren’t convinced.

If we are to believe what we read in the papers then the choice for Arsenal’s Technical Director comes down to Monchi and Marc Overmars.

Raul Sanllehi and Unai Emery are believed to be driving the Monchi train and there are even reports that he could have found an agreement with the club.

Hop across to the Netherlands, however, and Overmars is still being heavily linked despite reports that it is felt he does not have enough experience at this point in his career.

“At Arsenal, there are people who really want to bring him in, but not everyone,” said Dutch De Telegraaf journalist Marcel van der Kraan. “There is a whole discussion going on. It is a very complicated club at the moment with Spanish people who technically have the say, but a Technical Director who is good at buying and selling.

“I have reason to believe that he is in contact with the club, he denies it, we will see how things are going in the summer.”

Ajax deny that Arsenal have made an approach for their former player.

While Raul Sanllehi is heavily involved in the search for a Technical Director, Jos Kroenke is also said to be helping interview potential candidates according to the Daily Mail.
