Harry Kane isn’t giving up hope of an early return from injury, according to reports, with Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Arsenal coming up at the start of March.
Friday’s Daily Mail claims Kane ‘appears to be on course for a swift return from injury’, after damaging ligaments in his left ankle in mid-January. At the time, Tottenham’s website claimed the striker wouldn’t return to training until ‘early March’.
However, according to the Mail, Spurs are hoping Kane’s warm-weather trip to North America to work on his injury will ‘accelerate the striker’s recovery’. The player himself is reportedly ‘not giving up hope of returning to action ahead of schedule’.
This is all relevant information to Arsenal fans because The Gunners are set to travel to Wembley (probably) to face Spurs on March 2nd. If Kane doesn’t even return to training until early March, he certainly won’t be ready for the North London derby. If he makes it back ahead of schedule though, you can be sure Tottenham will include him in the squad.
The striker scored the winner in this fixture last season, although that’s the only non-penalty goal he’s scored against Arsenal since the 2015/16 season. The problem is that Tottenham keep getting penalties.
We’ll have to wait and see whether Kane is indeed available to try and score another one next month.
