Arsenal were linked with a move for Sancho before he joined the Citizens and then again more heavily before he moved to Borussia Dortmund, but if this is how City are behaving, it’s no wonder Arsenal weren’t able to seal a deal.
It has been claimed in leaked emails released by Der Spiegel that the payment was made to Emeka Obasi under the guide of a ‘scouting contract’.
Speaking recently, Arsene Wenger confirmed that he had tried to sign the player.
“(Sancho’s) is an incredible story because the pressure now on these young boys from an early age is very big,” Wenger said.

“The second thing is the pressure from all the clubs – I say that freely because I wanted to take him from Manchester City when he was not getting the games.
“I tried to lure him because he was from London, I tried to get him to Arsenal.”
Sancho himself has recently been speaking about his life, including his friendship with Reiss Nelson, and you can read about that next.
