Emile Smith Rowe will have to wait for his Bundesliga debut after it was revealed that he arrived in Germany carrying an injury.
Speaking to the media in Germany after his side’s 3-0 win at Hannover on Friday evening, manager Ralf Rangnick said, “He has suffered the aftermath of a groin injury suffered in London and will not be able to fully train with us in the next two or three weeks.
“We have to see for now that we get him properly healthy.”
Smith Rowe had not featured for Arsenal since the 3-0 win over Vorskla back in November. A hip injury kept him on the sidelines but he had reportedly returned to light training before his loan move was confirmed.
All that being said, given RB Leipzig are paying €1m for his services for the rest of the season, it’s highly unlikely there is any doubt over the nature of his injury nor the length of time it will take to clear up.
The Bundesliga side are keen to make the deal permanent.
