Arsenal sent scouts to watch Birmingham City striker Che Adams on Tuesday, with the 22-year-old in fantastic form since the turn of the year.

The Mirror claim representatives from Arsenal, Celtic, Watford and Manchester United were all at St Andrew’s on Tuesday night to watch Birmingham City face Bolton. Adams was looking to make history at the club by scoring in his seventh consecutive league game, but unfortunately, he was denied a goal in the dying seconds of the match.

Nonetheless, the striker still has eight goals in eight games in all competitions in 2019, and he’s earning all the interest from higher divisions. In his Championship campaign overall, he has 19 goals and four assists in 32 matches (29 starts).

Burnley tried to sign him in the last transfer window, but their offer of £9m was rejected as Birmingham wanted twice that amount. Now, Adams’ price is likely to have been increased even further by his recent form.

Arsenal already have two top quality strikers in the present, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who have carried the team’s attack for large portions of this season. However, it’s starting to seem pretty likely Danny Welbeck will leave at the end of the season and Eddie Nketiah will go on loan in the 2019/20 campaign.

That would leave a spot open for a new third-choice striker. A promising talent like Adams, who needs to be eased into top division football, could fit the bill nicely. We’ll see what happens this summer.
