Alexandre Lacazette was the Arsenal fans’ choice for Player of the Month in January, winning the vote by a huge margin.

Arsenal announced the winner on Tuesday, revealing that Lacazette had won 65% of the votes. His next closest competitor was Sead Kolasinac, with 15%. Aaron Ramsey came third with 10% and Sokratis Papastathopoulos finished fourth, also with 10%.

The results are no real surprise, considering the Frenchman’s performances in the first month of 2019. Most notably, he scored against Chelsea and provided an assist against Manchester United. However, he also added goals against Fulham and Cardiff, meaning he scored in every league match the team won for the month.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still Arsenal’s top scorer for the season, and he added a couple of goals of his own in January.

Lacazette is fast becoming one of the key players in the team overall though. There’s no one in the squad who has created more goals than Arsenal’s 2017 signing this season.

The 27-year-old also won Arsenal’s Goal of the Month award for January for his strike against Chelsea, and he’s up for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award too. Congratulations to him for a great start to the year!
