On Friday, UEFA released a report detailing the finances of clubs all across Europe and highlighting different trends in the footballing landscape at the moment. As part of their report, they put together a list of the clubs with the highest revenue in the continent. Here are the top 10:

  1. Manchester United FC – €676m
  2. Real Madrid CF – €675m
  3. FC Barcelona – €649m
  4. FC Bayern Munich – €588m
  5. Manchester City FC – €558m
  6. Paris Saint-Germain FC – €503m
  7. Arsenal FC – €490m
  8. Liverpool FC – €428m
  9. Chelsea FC – €420m
  10. Juventus – €412m

Though there’s a pretty big gap to the top spot, Arsenal still finish extremely high up on the overall list. The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Juventus and AC Milan are all lagging way behind, among others, which will probably confuse some supporters given the way those clubs spend compared to Arsenal.

The difference is partly due to the fact that Arsenal are the only club not benefitting from any investment from their owner. Also, just because the Gunners bring more money in, doesn’t mean they can spend all of it on transfer fees. It’s much more complicated than that.

Hopefully, the fact that Arsenal can still bring in so much money should benefit the club in the long run, even if it doesn’t seem to be making any difference right now.
