An exclusive from Romanian outlet Sport.ro claims Benfica scouts were in attendance for Dragomir’s match against Ascoli over the weekend. The 19-year-old currently plays for Perugia in Serie B, after completing a permanent transfer from Arsenal over the summer. Benfica have been monitoring him ‘for a long time’ since then.

ProSport.ro confirm that Benfica scouts have been following Dragomir since at least December.

The scouts would likely have been impressed with what they saw. Dragomir’s side won 3-0, with the Romanian youngster winning the penalty for the opening goal.

Playing a deeper role than he did with Arsenal, Dragomir hasn’t been involved in the goals quite as much since leaving. He had one goal and one assist for Perugia in his 15 appearances prior to the weekend. However, he’s still clearly an important part of the team, only missing four games in the entire season so far.

Hopefully, the youngster will continue his first-team progress and reach his potential, after all the hype around him as an Arsenal player. We’ll see.
