Emile Smith Rowe appears to be back out injured and working on his fitness, based on a video on Rob Holding’s Instagram story.

Arsenal’s 18-year-old midfielder suffered an injury before the 4-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last month. He spent a few weeks out but appeared to have recovered when he returned to the squad to face Blackpool on January 5th.

Unfortunately, Smith Rowe now seems to have had a setback. After a few first-team and academy games went by without a squad appearance, Holding’s Instagram story showed the youngster working on his fitness alongside the injured centre-back:

Arsenal youth expert Jeorge Bird speculated that this means Smith Rowe is still out injured. However, he added his prediction that the academy star will be back available soon.

The England u19 international had scored three goals for the Arsenal first team and three goals for the academy this season, before his injury. He appeared to be working his way into Unai Emery’s thoughts with his impressive performances in the cups and in Europe, and hopefully, he’ll be back in the squad again soon enough.
