Arsenal would be willing to make a good offer to sign Ismaila Sarr, according to reports, despite the club’s insistence that they’re focusing on loan deals only.

Fichajes report that despite the recent signings of older players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Stephan Lichtsteiner, Arsenal still have a strong focus on bringing in young players for the future.

One of their targets is reportedly Stade Rennais’ Ismaila Sarr, and the Gunners are ‘willing to make a good offer’ to sign the 20-year-old, even in the winter window.

This goes against what Unai Emery has been saying in press conferences, that Arsenal are only going to be looking at loan deals this month. However, it’s possible they might alter this policy if they have the chance to bring in a young talent, particularly if they feel they may not get the same opportunity in the summer.

Sarr is having a good season with Rennes. He has nine goals and six assists in 26 matches, an impressive record for a winger at his age.

There are still aspects of Sarr’s game that need work, without any doubt. Though he’s a strong dribbler, he does also have a tendency to lose the ball fairly frequently. Despite almost scoring double figures for the season, his finishing could use some more consistency.

We’ll see if Arsenal are willing to make the investment for the future to work on Sarr’s development in North London.
