Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on the deadline day signings of Luciano Acosta and Idrissa Gueye, freeing up Christopher Nkunku to join Arsenal, according to reports.

Sky Sports report that DC United attacking midfielder Luciano Acosta ‘is flying to Paris’ today for a deadline day transfer to PSG. The fee is set at around £7.5m. Meanwhile, the Mirror add that the Ligue 1 club’s move to Idrissa Gueye is on, with the Everton man set to leave for £35m.

To add to those two deals, PSG have already completed a move for Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes.

This is important to note for Arsenal fans, as it could well be the tipping point in the deal to sign Christopher Nkunku from the French side. David Ornstein made it clear in his initial reports on the deal that PSG would want cover before agreeing to let the midfielder leave. It seems they now have that cover in the form of three new players.

However, the deal isn’t quite done yet. On Wednesday night, Ornstein described it as “50/50”. Those odds have presumably received a bit of a boost as the other deals edge closer to completion, but we’ll have to wait and see.
