CAF Online report that the Premier League trio are in the final shortlist of possible winners of the 2018 individual award.

Aubameyang has certainly had a strong 2018, scoring 26 goals and assisting 7 despite moving to a new club in a new league. Of course, it’s hard to look past Salah’s 37 goals and 16 assists for Liverpool, even if he did have the advantage of already being settled in a much better performing team for most of the year.

Alex Iwobi was also nominated in the original shortlist for the award, but he’s now dropped out before the final three.

For Aubameyang, this is nothing new, considering he’s been in the top three for five years running now. In the previous four, he finished second, first, second and third. We’ll see where he ends up this time, but congratulations to him for making it this far!
